Knight, whose groundbreaking work left its mark on depictions of wildlife and dinosaurs, lived in Bronxville from 1906 to 1918. Locally he is known for the murals he painted at New York’s American Museum of Natural History and the outdoor sculptures at the Bronx Zoo’s Elephant House. The front door of his home at 67 Park is still flanked by two lions’ heads that guard the entrance.
